The shop started making frames again for the factory at the end of the 1950’s to cater for individual customer requirements; factory Specials. In the mid 1960’s they made frames of their own design with the Italia range again built to specific customer requirements. The Strada was the Road Bike in that range and was offered with Seciallissimo extensions to the BB and built to customer requirements.

There is no such thing as a standard Strada as that would be an Italia, the off the shelf stock bike of the range. The red frame (#69137) has Prugeant S lugs, top tube cable guides and gear leaver bosses. Note: these last two items could have also been added later as clearly this frame has been repainted and latter Reynolds decals used. The Blue frame above has Prugnat I Lugs, chrome forks/stays and a hanger for center pull brakes. It also has tunnels thunder bottom bracket, as does the red frame, and neither have evidence of double stop cable guides.

In addition to this an alternative rear brake cable hanger was used on the Strada that did not work with the Pro style intergal seat lug.

Prugnat D55 lugs were also used on the Strada and early shop Strada Professionals. As well as these the Nevex Pro lugs were offered.

Strada Speciallissimo with plenty of double stop cable guides & rear brake cable bridge.
